“Rhein in Flammen” (Rhine in Flames) – that’s the name of one of Germany’s most captivating fireworks spectacles. The city of Bonn will see the impressive event once again on May 6th. It is accompanied by several music performances in the Rhine meadows.
The annual grand display of fireworks on the Middle Rhine has taken place in various venues for more than 30 years. On May 6th a flotilla of illuminated ships will start in Linz, the colourful city on the Rhine. The final destination is Bonn, the former capital of Germany. About 50 brightly decorated ships will take part in the parade, 800 Bengal lights will line the scenic waterside and there a going to be several smaller fireworks along the river. In Bonn visitors can enjoy the romantic highlight of the event: The major fireworks accompanied by music.
There are going to be several riverbank celebrations as fringe events. In Bonn's Rheinaue Park they will already start on May 5th (Friday) with live concerts of „Judas Rising“, „She’s got Balls“ and „Völkerball“. On Saturday, 5 pm, the „Boogie Wonder Stars“ will fire the audience up, and there is still more to come: Bands like „Kasalla“ and the „Räuber” have announced their appearance.
