Entry fees for travelers to the USA will rise significantly. From October 1, it is not only the fees for electronic travel authorization (ESTA) that will increase. At the same time, the country is also introducing a so-called Visa Integrity Fee for longer stays.

The ESTA, which EU citizens need for visa-free travel of up to 90 days, will almost double in price, from $21 to $40.

EU citizens who wish to stay in the US for longer than 90 days, for example as business travelers, already need a non-immigrant visa, such as a business visa (B1), which costs $185.

In addition, they will have to pay a visa integrity fee of $250 in the future. It is not yet clear whether this fee will be refunded upon departure.
