Driving training 2014
Drivers from DLS Limousine-Service GmbH/ Interline Düsseldorf completed a special training course (Landmann training) for board drivers in August. At the Hunsrück driving technology facility, Landmann Training GmbH offers particularly demanding driving safety training courses that go far beyond conventional courses offered by other providers.

Professional VIP chauffeurs must have much more than a valid driver's license. For example, an absolutely confident driving style is important. They should always be in control of the vehicle and give their passengers the feeling that they are in good hands. This is why all Interline drivers have always taken part in regular driving safety training. During this training, for example, braking and evasive maneuvers or driving in unfavorable road conditions (aquaplaning, slippery roads, etc.) are practiced.

The Landmann special training course is now another important component in terms of safety. The focus of the training, which is carried out by highly qualified instructors from special police units and is specifically geared towards the increased demands placed on board drivers, is not the vehicle but the driver. Driving maneuvers with a particularly high degree of difficulty are trained - in vehicles without modern assistance systems, which the participants have to master without technical support.

During Landmann training, the drivers experience three essential limits: 1. the limits of the respective vehicle, 2. the basics and limits of driving physics and 3. their own driving skills, which are continuously perfected during training.

The core of the challenges is the correct behavior in emergency and dangerous situations. These include, for example, situations in which the driver's own vehicle is forced off the road or has to reverse at high speed in narrow lanes in order to escape a blockage or danger. Drivers are also trained to brake sharply at very high speeds or to escape by turning 180 degrees (“reverse turn”).

“Interline Düsseldorf drives the who's who of German business as well as celebrities from politics and society,” says Frank Bewerunge, Managing Director at Interline Düsseldorf. “In addition to driving safety in the narrower sense, emergencies and dangerous situations are playing an increasingly important role in view of the current threat situation in Germany and the world. We have always used permanently employed, checked and very carefully trained drivers who regularly complete ADAC (German Automobile Club) perfection training courses. However, we are now also taking account of the tense situation with the extended training courses for board drivers. Our passengers should be able to trust that they are always safe on the road with Interline.”
