The Cologne Marathon starts on Otto Square (Ottoplatz) in Deutz. The runners pass Deutz Bridge (Deutzer Brücke), the Old Town, Rheinauhafen, Bayenthal  and Rodenkirchen,  Rudolfplatz , Sülz and Lindenthal, Melaten Cementery Melatenfriedhof and Aachen Pond. Hohenzollernring and Friesenplatz, Ehrenfeld and Nippes, Neumarkt and Hohe Straße are further course sections before they reach the finish line near Cologne Cathedral.
