On May 26, the traditional "Rund um Köln" cycle race will be held again. It starts at around 11 a.m. at Cologne's Rheinauhafen.

20 national and international teams of professional cyclists will compete. The route leads through the Bergisches Land up to Wipperfürth. There are several sprint and mountain classifications on the 200-kilometer route, including the legendary cobblestone passage to Bensberg Castle, with a 12 percent gradient. Even more challenging is the Agathaberg near Wipperfürth, which is twice as steep and the highest point of the route at 367 meters.

But amateur cyclists can also compete with each other. They can choose between the Velodrom 30, 70 and 130, three routes of between 26 and 130 kilometers. The beginners' tour Velodrom 30, which is aimed at the general public, starts in Bergisch Gladbach.

The professionals should reach the finish in Rheinauhafen at around 15:30, the amateurs will arrive at 12:30.
